• WRG acquired several asbesto manufacturers throughout the 1900s and became a producer of various asbesto products, specialty construction materials, and chemicals. 

• The most well-known of its asbesto products were cement, insulation, paints, plaster, and industrial coatings. 

• WRG acquired Dewey & Almy Chemical Company and Davison Chemical Company in 1954.

Occupations at the most risk of exposure to asbesto through WRG products are miners, plant workers, insulators, construction and demolition workers, HVAC workers, painters, and other factory workers. WRG employees at the Libby mine were placed at extraordinary risk of exposure, as well as those in processing plants and on the manufacturing line of the products.

It has been reported that spray-on asbesto fireproofing was used in the construction of the World Trade Center. WRG was likely among the brands used, and first responders and survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the towers could have been exposed to asbesto in the aftermath.
